Cleora stenoglypta Prout, 1929
TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Lepidoptera; GEOMETRIDAE
IDENTIFICATION: Medium moth (17mmTL) varies from grey to dark brown, mottled with darker wavy lines crossing wings.
Fore and hind wings broadly triangular , both wings similarly mottled with different shades of greenish brown; females paler, cell rings in middle of wings and 2 distal lines clearly visible. Underside grey, darker distally; cell spots clearly visible with distal line. Head, Thorax and Abdomen colour similar to wings. Legs and Antennae grey; male feathery, female filamentous.
GENERAL NOTE: Caterpillar will be a looper (inchworm), polyphagous. Adults nocturnal, and were abundant where found.
