GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: India - se.Asia - Australia - French Polynesia; s. to Rapa; Land, lowlands

KEY FEATURES: Medium moth (15mmTL) broad bodied medium brown with thick tufted-collar on forethorax; and one pale bar across forewing.

IDENTIFICATION: Medium moth (15mmTL) broad bodied medium brown with thick tufted-collar on forethorax; and one pale bar across forewing. Body stout. Fore wings oblong, light brown with grey patch near to body and faint buff cell spot with fascia beyond. Hind wings pale greyish brown opalescent. Underside paler. Head and Thorax medium brown; collar (behind head, on thorax) conspicuous, dark brown (males), collar pallid concolorous with thorax but still evident, females). Abdomen dark brown, with the tip whitish brown (males) or pallid grey (females), underside whitish brown. Legs dark brown banded with paler brown. Antennae dark brown, threadlike..

GENERAL NOTE: Caterpillar a cutworm, on weeds and vegetable plants. Adult nocturnal.
