More Information

SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
NEGATIVE SIGNIFICANCE: larvae damages coconut fronds. Comments: Caterpillars eat the leaflet fringes of about-to-unfurl coconut leaves while still in the (vertical) central 'spike'. This damage is often attributed erroneously to Erechthias psammaula, which feeds on dying/dead fronds. (J.Dugdale 6/2005)
