More Information

IDENTIFICATION: Medium moth (13mmTL) dark brown with black kidney cell spot. Body slender. Wings dark brown, darker distally. Fore wings with black kidney cell spot and faint vestiges of a line and chain of dots crossing wing distal to spot. Hind wings unmarked. Underside background colour as upper surface. Hind wings greyer with double line and row of dots crossing wing. Head, Thorax, Abdomen, Legs and Antennae predominantly dark brown.Males woth complex, contorted palpi.

GENERAL NOTE: Caterpillar in litter on ground. Adults nocturnal, occasionally abundant.
