General Information

COMMON NAMES: Blue Agapanthus, African Lily, Blue Agapanthus Lily, Lily-of-the-Nile

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE South Africa.

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

KEY FEATURES: HERB. LEAVES long and strap-like, 5cm wide; dark-green; release sticky juice when broken. FLOWER-STALK to 1m. FLOWERS ball-shaped cluster (~20cmØ) with 40-100 flowers; flower-tube to 5cm; petal-lobes purple- blue with dark central stripe.
