General Information

COMMON NAMES: Christmas Cactus, Claw Cactus, Crab Cactus, Yoke Cactus, Thanksgiving Cactus, Linkleaf.

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE s.Brazil. Cultivated widely, tropics to temperate.

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental stem and Flowers

SIMILAR SPECIES: Easter Cactus (Rhipsalidopsis gaertneri) has flattened stems with edges bristly (vs not smooth).
