General Information

COMMON NAMES: Yellow Jasmine, Italian Yellow-Jasmine [mainly for large, fragrant flowered variety, old in cultivation]

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Middle East - Nepal

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Shrub to 4m. LEAVES alternate, compound, 3-7 leaflets; LEAFLETS narrow- to wide-oval, to 7x4cm, matt green, tip usually sharp, base symmetrical to asymmetrial. FLOWERS small clusters; each 25mmØ; corolla tube yellow, slender, to 15x3mm; petals yellow, 5, spreading, oval to 12x8mm, tip round; calyx green, cup 3mm long, spines small c.1mm.
