COMMON NAMES: Indian Mallow

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Indigenous to tropical Africa, Asia.

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flower

KEY FEATURES: SHRUB to 2.5m. LEAVES grey downy, to 10cm; sometimes three-lobed; wide-oval, widest toward the tip. FLOWERS solitary; lateral, from bases of leaves; yellow, to 2.5cmØ FRUIT furry; 5-20 sections, 3 seeds/section; ripening black.
