General Information

COMMON NAMES: Zebra Blenny, Squiggly Blenny; French Blennie Zébrée

TRADITIONAL NAMES: Panako (RR)

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Pitcairn, Hawai‘i; n. to s.Japan; s. to Tonga

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, outer reef-slope surge channels to 20m

KEY FEATURES: To 9cm. Body usually with 12-14 black bars on pale grey, hind body and tail base sometimes bright yellow or red.
