COMMON NAMES: Fiveline Seaperch, Blue-banded Sea-perch, Blue-striped Snapper, Five-lined Snapper; French Vivaneau à Cinq Bandes

TRADITIONAL NAMES: ‘Īroa (RR)

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Andamans to Tonga - Cooks; n. to s.Japan; s. to New Caledonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Food fish

KEY FEATURES: To 40cm. Yellow body with 5 blue lines running the length.
