COMMON NAMES: Lavendar Snapper, Lavendar Jobfish, Von Siebold's Snapper; French Colas Fil

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - French Polynesia, Hawai‘i; n. to s.Japan; s. to New Caledonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, deepbottom, pelagic

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Food fish

KEY FEATURES: To 60cm. Torpedo shaped with large eyes. Silvery-red with faint blue lines along upper body. Dorsal & Pectoral Fins yellowish, Pelvic & Anal clear, tail reddish.
