COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, outer reef-slope, more common 20m+ SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Not eaten.; Poisonous to eat? KEY FEATURES: To 12cm. Body white below with many small blue spots, darker above, often blotchy brown, & without spots; ±black blotch at base of dorsal. Eye ringed yellow with radiating blue spokes. Tail yellow with blue stripes; other fins clear. Conspicuous yellow spot in blue ring above Dorsal base. SIMILAR SPECIES: Other Toby's (species of Canthigaster).
