General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: Carolines - Marquesas

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Land, lowlands - mountains; in ground litter

KEY FEATURES: xxx BodyL: CEPHALOTHORAX: Ovate, narrow part anterior, uniformly dark brown, appearing black to naked eye. ABDOMEN: Dark brown to black with one or two whitish crossbands dorsally, one at anterior end, the other about two-thirds of the way back. LEGS: Dark brown. EYES: Eight in two rows of four. WEB: None

SIMILAR SPECIES: Odontodrassus aphanes is distinguished by coloration and genitalia.

Aitutaki: 1 immature under bark "may belong to this species [Poicilochroa rollini]" (BJM60), , JBeatty says species needs to be checked, so far only this species is known to be native in Pacific. (pers.comm.2001).
