General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Southeast Polynesia (Rarotonga, Tahiti)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, Endemic of se.Polynesia; Land

KEY FEATURES: Prostrate moss. Lateral leaf margins minutely toothed. Sporophytes in groups of 3-5, Capsules horizontal on 1.5cm long brown setae.

SIMILAR SPECIES: current sp. sometimes recognised as syn. of Hypopterygium tahitense
