General Information

COMMON NAMES: Variegated Alternanthera; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental leaves

KEY FEATURES: Small creeping herb. STEMS succulent & brittle. LEAVES opposite, adjacent pairs at right-angles; obovate narrowing to tip, to 4cmx2cm; puckered surface; greyish-green irregularly edged cream, some (especially young) with pink blush; petiole more or less winged. >>SEE SKETCH WITH SUE NOTES, description from Sue's plant<<
