General Information

COMMON NAMES: Firefern Oxalis, Firefern, Red Flame

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Ecuador - Venzuela

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental leaves

KEY FEATURES: Erect subshrub to 1m. STEM branching, thin, maroon. LEAVES maroon, compound with 3 leaflets; LEAFLETS wide-oval, widest-towards-base, tips pointed. Leaf-stalk to 6cm, stalklets long, especially central one. FLOWERS cluster, 2-6 yellow flowers, each ~1cmØ.
