General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Siberia - Asia Minor

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Food (Leaf 2+) Cond

KEY FEATURES: Herb with 1-2 hollow upright leaves. BULBS elongate, clustered, outer layer membranous. LEAVES 1-2, hollow, cylindrical, to 30cm x 6mm. FLOWER-STALK (=scape) to 50cm, hollow. FLOWERS 5-15mm long, white to purple, filaments short; stalks shorter than flower lengths.
