COMMON NAMES: Gladiolus, Sword Lily; German Gladiole

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE s.Africa (- s.Europe)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Erect herb with a terminal stalk of showy flowers. LEAVES ascending, sword-like. FLOWERS showy, on one side of spike; funnel-like, 3 upper lobes larger than the 3 lower lobes.
