General Information

COMMON NAMES: Sulphur-crested Cockatoo; German Gelbhaubenkakadu

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, Cagebird

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Personal pet

KEY FEATURES: To 50cm TL. Large white birds with yellow under the wings, a long yellow crest, and a strong dark bill. MALE eye black. FEMALE eye bright red. VOICE a loud screech. NEST in hollows in trees; 2-3 eggs, 50x35mm.
