TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); MAGNOLIOPSIDA (=Dicotyledones); ROSIDAE; Rhizophorales; RHIZOPHORACEAE
GENERAL NOTE: In the Mangaia pollen record the species was not identified [Ellison 1994]. It is listed here as samoensis the most common species in Samoa and Tonga, but it could also have been stylosa a species native from Indonesa to Samoa and Tonga.[G.McC.]
