General Information

COMMON NAMES: Austral Peperomia

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Southeast Polynesia (Mangaia - Australs)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, Endemic of se.Polynesia; S.Group only (MG, ?MK); Land, lowlands - mountains, to 350m; on trees and rocks

KEY FEATURES: Fleshy herb to 30cm. LEAVES usually alternate; 3 longitudinal veins, wide-oval, to 8x4cm, without hairs and very glossy; stalk to 1.5cm. INFLROESCENCE 1-3 terminal spikes, to 10cm, covered with minute flowers. FRUIT sticky globe 0.5mmØ
