General Information

COMMON NAMES: Weber's Chromis; French Chromis de Weber

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa -Pitcairn; n to s.Japan; s to New Caledonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore,; channels and seaward reefs to 25m

KEY FEATURES: A deeply forked-tail damsel to 12cm SL. Uniform olive to grey body, with dark bar behind eye, dark Pectoral joint, and dark tail-tips. Dark edged scales form a dark network on body.

IDENTIFICATION: 12cm SL. Body olive to grey with dark-edged scales forming a latticework, lower sides may have faint yellow stripes; a dark brown bar behind the eye; and Pectoral-jpint is dark. Tail deeply forked, tips black.
