General Information

COMMON NAMES: Whitebar Wrasse; French Girelle Paon à Quatre Bandes Noires

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE PNG - Fiji - Cooks; n. to s.Japan; s. to Kermadecs

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group - rare; N.Group ?; Marine, near-shore, lagoons and seaward reefs to 15m

KEY FEATURES: To 17cm SL. Colour similar thoughout life.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Sixbar Wrasse (Thalasoma hardwicke) has six narrow bars (vs ~3 very wide bars)
