General Information

COMMON NAMES: Hubbard's Hawkfish; French Poisson-faucon Doré

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Bonin, Phoenix, Cooks, Tuamotu

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group (RR); Marine, near-shore, Seaward reef-slope; mainly 5-10m, on corals

KEY FEATURES: To 12cm SL. Tail orange, tail-base orange with large black spot.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Twospot Hawkfish (Amblycirrhitus bimacula) brown blotching and marks on hind-head (vs small spots). (CHECK THIS -GM)
