GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Madagascar - Sth.Africa

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

KEY FEATURES: Upright herb/shrub to 2m. Leaves in terminal cluster, narrow and cylindrical, to 10cm, tip toothed with plantlets. FLowers drooping, purple to orange.

IDENTIFICATION: Upright herb/shrublet to 1m. LEAVES succulent, opposite or whorled, spotted violet-brown, cylindrical with upper groove, to 5x80mm, tip toothed with plantlets. FLOWERS pendent, red, tube 25mm, spreading lobes 12mm.
