General Information

COMMON NAMES: Three-leaflet Flemingia

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Inida - Malesia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised? (?Mangaia); Land, lowlands, gardens

KEY FEATURES: Shrub to 3.5m. STEMS ridged, hairy. LEAVES 3-leaflets (=trifoliolate); LEAFLETS oval to long-oval, to 15x7cm, laterals symmetrical, tips drawn-out. FLOWERS on axial stalk to 7cm; flowers pink to purple, to 12mm long, initially covered by a small papery bract. FRUIT oblong 15x7mm, short hairs. SEEDS black, 3mm.
