General Information

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, Endemic of Cooks, 1-island; S.Group only (Rarotonga only); Land, valleys - mountains to top of Te Kou; on foliage

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Endangered globally seriously

KEY FEATURES: Spiralled globose-conical shell, 8x6mm(ØxH). SHELL dark horn colour, very thin, translucent, extremely polished; basal pit narrow; aperature evenly rounded. ANIMAL off-white; tentacles dark grey; lung colourless; tail-horn not reaching tip of sole.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Microcystis venosa and Microcystis subcicercula have relatively lower spires (vs. high rounded spire)
