SYNONYMS: Acacia cole Maslin & L.Thompson; Acacia cowleana Tate; Acacia neurocarpa Cunn. ex Hook)

TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); MAGNOLIOPSIDA (=Dicotyledones); ROSIDAE; Fabales (Legumes); MIMOSACEAE. COMMENT: Acacia holosericea was split in 1992 into 4 taxonomic specific entities (Maslin & Thompson, 1992): Acacia holosericea stricto sensu. (tetraploid, 2n = 52); Acacia neurocarpa (diploid, 2n = 26); Acacia colei (hexaploid, 2n = 78, presumed hybrid Acacia neurocapa x Acacia cowlena); and Acacia cowleana (tetraploid, 2n = 52).

POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Forestry. Comments: Trialled on Mangaia in 1992.
