TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Coleoptera; BOSTRICHIDAE
SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
NEGATIVE SIGNIFICANCE: in dried bamboo, wood, and stored foods. Comments: Infest dried bamboo and wood, and stored foods, such as cassava, maize, starch and cereals. Adults and larvae bore holes.
IDENTIFICATION: To 4mm TL. Dark brown. Thick bodied, with small scales and erect hairs; head beneath the thorax-shield. LARVAE white and parallel sided, with legs.
