General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: RANGE Circumglobal

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; S.Group; Land, in books, esp. if 50+% humidity

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; in books and documents

KEY FEATURES: Minute, to 1mmBL. Usually females only - reproduce by parthenogenesis. COLOUR uniform pale brown. HEAD large with long antennae, and small eyes; THORAX without wings; ABDOMEN flat and oval, with clear segments. LEGS pale. Feed mainly on mildew and mould, sometimes starch.
