General Information

COMMON NAMES: Redwood, Wild Dividivi; French Amourette

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Caribbean (Curacao - Lesser Antilles); EXOTIC EXOTIC Fiji, Cooks (Ma‘uke)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; S.Group (Mauke only - localised; ?MT); Land, lowlands, horticultural

KEY FEATURES: Shrub or small tree to 4m. Without thorns. LEAVES bipinnate (never with phyllodes), PINNA 4-8 pairs (each to 7cm) with LEAFLETS 10-25 pairs to 7x3mm, tip obtuse, base obtuse and asymmetrical. FLOWERS on stalk to 2cm, head wide-ovoid. FRUIT flat pod, 6x1cm, brown; 5-8 transverse seeds each 4x3mm.
