General Information

COMMON NAMES: Kassod Tree, Coffee Senna [in Africa]

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE India - Malaysia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, horticultural

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers, (forestry)

KEY FEATURES: Tree to to 12m. Bark grey. LEAVES to 35cm compound, LEAFLETS 6-12 pairs, each oblong to 8cm, dark yellow-green. FLOWERS dense cluster of 10-60; yellow, petal 15mm. FRUITS flat pods to 30x2cm, ripen brown, persistent.
