General Information

COMMON NAMES: a Click-Beetle

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, lowlands

KEY FEATURES: Click-beetle to 12mmBL. COLOUR individuals vary, brown to dark brown, covered in short pale hairs. THORAX brown with pale posterior; posterior projections acute (withOUT dorsal ridge), pale with fine black marginal line. WING-COVERS with lines.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Species of Conoderus, Prosephus, Lacon, and Simodactylus that occur in nearby countries could easily be present and require detailed examination to separate.
