SYNONYMS: Eranthemum bicolor; Eranthemum pulchellum [of hort.]
TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); MAGNOLIOPSIDA (=Dicotyledones); ASTERIDAE; Scrophulariales; ACANTHACEAE
IDENTIFICATION: Shrub to 2m. LEAVES opposite,dark purple, narrow-oval, to 12x4cm, tip sharp, edge with a few very low teeth; stalk to 1cm. FLOWERS axillary and terminal; tube slender, to 20x2mm; face 30mmØ; lobes 5, spreading, to 15x10mm, white with purple to pink basal spots.
