General Information

COMMON NAMES: Dwarf Dracaena

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE trop.Africa

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; S.Group (RR); Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Oranmental leaves

KEY FEATURES: Shurb to 1.5m, without branches. LEAVES ascending, oblong, to 40x8cm. ends blunt; stalk slender. FLOWERS densely clustered, terminal and on side-branches, fragrant; corolla white flushed red, slender tube to 20x2mm, petals 6, slender to 30x2mm; stamens and style long-protruding, white. FRUIT oval 15x8mm.
