COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Shrub to 5m. LEAVES opposite, wide-oval, 4x3cm, edge large-toothed; stalk 1cm. FLOWERS in clusters; calyx saucer-like, 2cmØ, corolla tube-like to 2cm; pink, purple or blue.

IDENTIFICATION: Erect shrub or small tree to 5m. BRANCHLETS dull 4-angled to round. LEAVES opposite, simple, wide-oval, to 4x3cm, edge with large round teeth; stalks to 1cm. FLOWERS axillary or terminal clusters; calyx saucer-like, to 2cmØ, pink or purple; corolla tubular, 2cm, with 5 lobes, purple, violet or blue.
