General Information

COMMON NAMES: Anthony's Rick-rack, St. Anthony's Rick-rack, Rick-rack Cactus; Ric-rac Cactus, Fishbone Cactus, Zig-zag Cactus

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Mexico

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

KEY FEATURES: Hanging epiphyte to 2m. STEM to 100x15cm, green, flat, 2-winged, deeply lobed; 3 short spines in axils between lobes. FLOWER nocturnal, fragrant, funnel-like, to 15cmØ; petals outer purple, inner yellow.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Epiphyllum anguliger, with the same English names, has white petals.
