General Information

COMMON NAMES: Spangled Emperor, North-West Snapper; French Lethrinus Bleuté

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Red Sea - Samoa - Cooks, n. to Japan, s. to NSW

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: To 90cm. Oval fish with long snout. Olive to grey with blue spot on scales; and blue lines on the face. Fins orange with blue markings, pectorals yellow. Upper lip, gill-cover margin and inside of mouth orange. Often in schools over sand or rubble areas.
