TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Hymenoptera; Apocrita; Parasitica; Ichneumonoidea; ICHNEUMONIDAE
IDENTIFICATION: Large ichneumon to 13mmBL. HEAD black, with 4 white marks on face; antennae 7mm, orange. THORAX topside black with white spot between hindwings. WINGS smoky with dark panel midfront of forewing. ABDOMEN stalk black; forethird orange; hindsection black with narrow white bars or bands. LEGS 1st & 2nd small and pale orange; hindlegs large, orange with dark bands.
