General Information

COMMON NAMES: Platystomatid Fly

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land

KEY FEATURES: Tiny thick-set fly, to 3.5mmBL. BODY black. WINGS clear with dark blotch at tip and dark segment along the centre front; fore-edge with short bristles. ABDOMEN ~spherical, female with slender egg-layer. LEGS dark, paler near feet.
