Pseudeuxesta prima (Osten Sacken, 1881)
TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Diptera; OTITIDAE
IDENTIFICATION: Small fly, to 5mmBL. HEAD face pale. BODY black. WINGS clear with three dark blotches: at tip; wide bar from centre of fore-edge reaching 50% to rear-edge; and at base of wing. ABDOMEN female cream on underside of belly and on sides of last segment; with a black, long triangular egg-laying device.
