COMMON NAMES: Yellow-bar Shieldbug

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, horticultural

KEY FEATURES: Ornate shieldbug to 11mmBL. HEAD elongate, covered in close-set dark brown pits. THORAX and WINGCOVERS yellow-brown extensively covered with dark brown to red pits; lateral spines dark red-brown; central triangular plate marked red-brown with dark pits, and tip has short yellow bar (wider than long). WINGS transparent marked brown.

Aituaki: one specimen, 1984,G.Paulay with ID W.Gagne as Oechalia sp. but is same as the Montrouzieriellus specimens of Rarotonga and Aitutaki GMcC 5/2004. Aituaki: 2 specimens, 1977, N.L.H.Krauss in BPBM as Montrouzieriellus with other specimens from PNG, Fiji, Samoa & Tonga.
