General Information

COMMON NAMES: Rocklouse, Rock Louse, Sea-Slater

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE India - Fiji - Marquesas/Tuamotu

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group ?; N.Group - widespread; Terrestrial, lowlands (coastal), littoral

KEY FEATURES: To 2cmBL.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Ligiids require specimens. The intertidal Ligia vitiensis is the widespread Pacific species, but there might be other intertidal species. The circumtropical Ligia exotica might be found in Cook Islands harbours.
