GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: RANGE Circumglobal

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; usually harmless

KEY FEATURES: Cylindrical mite, to 0.4mmTL living in oil/sebaceous glands and hair follicles. Adults migrate across the skin. Usually harmless but can cause skin reactions. Dogs usually have their own mite Demodex canis.
