General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE ne.Africa (Eritrea - s.Yemen)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not Naturalised; Land, lowlands gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental (flowers, stems)

KEY FEATURES: Leafless, succulent herb, to 50cm. STEM ascending, thick, 4-6-angled, angles knobbed with a soft spine. FLOWER bell-like; lobes 5, tip sharp.
