General Information

COMMON NAMES: Maidenhair FernEXOTIC EXOTIC widespread, incl. Tahiti (naturalized)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, cultivated

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental fern

KEY FEATURES: To 60cm, 2-3x divided (=pinnate). LEAFLETS (=pinnules) fan-shaped, with terminal edge with low lobes; and veins ending between the lobes

SIMILAR SPECIES: Adiantum capillus-veneris has edge with deep clefts (vs. very shallow); and veins ending in tips of lobes (vs. between the lobes).
