GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Caribbean; EXOTIC EXOTIC Indonesia / Austalia / Philippines - se.Polynesia, Hawai‘i

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; S.Group - Rarotonga, Mitiaro so far; Land, coastal and lowlands; native and disturbed forest

KEY FEATURES: Bulbous cylindrical shell, 3.0x1.5mm(LxØ). SHELL 4-6 whorls; glossy, pale brown, semi-translucent; aperture with 4 small teeth

Rarotonga: NOT reported 1881 by Garrett for Rarotonga, Mangaia, Atiu, or Aitutaki; specimens, 1994, J.Craig, on Rarotonga in coastal areas, on Mitiaro around crop plants and in taro swamps, as Gastrocopta cf. lyonsiana; first reported, 2005/10, "native and disturbed lowland habitats", Fred Brook as Gastrocopta servilis in report 2005/11. Mitiaro: specimens, 1994, J.Craig, commonly around crop plants and in taro swamps, as Gastrocopta cf. lyonsiana.
