COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group - present; N.Group ?; Marine, near-shore, benthic, attached

KEY FEATURES: Fragile encrustation with coralline algae and sandy detritus in interior; compressible and elastic but 'crunchy' to the touch; conulose surface, pale icey blue in life.
