TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); MAGNOLIOPSIDA (=Dicotyledones); ROSIDAE; Sapindales; ANACARDIACEAE
GENERAL NOTE: When roasted thoroughly the nuts are harmless, but when eaten raw the juice in the outer layers is extremely irritating to the skin and can cause ulceration. (Arnold 1968)
