COMMON NAMES: Prickle Fern, Prickle Fern

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE India - Australia - Marquesas

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group only (Rarotonga & Mangaia only); Land, mountains (+++)

KEY FEATURES: To 80cm. BASE tufted. FROND to 80cm; stalk ~40cm, hairs common near base then sparse; front blade triangular, 40x40cm, 3x divided, leaflets to 15x8mm, glossy, tip with sharp teeth/prickles. SORI small, midway between centre and margin.
